BAA in ART (2d or 3d)
If you are coming from a community college and plan to acquire a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree, we suggest the completion of classes outlined in the MACRAO Agreement and as many studio art classes as possible. See your Registrar to have your transcript stamped with the MACRAO Agreement Satisfied endorsement. The BAA requires 14 studio courses plus courses in art history and theory. Because studio classes meet six contact hours/ week, we recommend you take no more than three/ semester. If you are able to take seven or eight studio courses at your community college, you should be able to schedule the remaining requirements, including a required minor, while completing your degree. Choose courses from those listed below:

Beginning Drawing
Design I (2-D Design)
Design II (3-D Design)
Color and Composition
Survey of Art History I and II
Survey of Art History I and II

Printmaking I or Sculpture I
In your area of concentration (2-D or 3-D) take the first class:
Painting

Printmaking
Drawing and/or Figure Drawing
Ceramics
Sculpture
Fiber Design

BFA in ART (2d or 3d)
Because of the extensive hours required for this degree, and because of the time required for studio courses, we recommend that you concentrate on a mixture of Art and University Program and Competency requirements while at your community college. You can then complete those requirements after transferring to Central Michigan University. The Bachelor of Fine Arts can require up to 19 studio courses, so you will want to take nine to ten courses before transferring. These courses might include:
