In 2007 KABdesigns was founded by Kathy Britton. She was attending Central Michigan University and enrolled in the College of Communications and Fine Arts for Graphic Design. Doing freelance work was just another way to pay the bills and to have extra money in the bank.
However, those were only the first thoughts. KABdesigns grew into so much more. One client turned into two which turned into ten which turned into twenty loyal clients. Soon enough, KABdesigns was no longer a hobby to Kathy and was now a small business and a way of life.
In December 2008 Kathy graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in Graphic Design from Central Michigan University. After her graduation she relocated permanently to Leelanau County in Northern Michigan. Kathy is constantly learning new ways to create effects and keeping up on trends in design and web maintenance.
In April 2009 Kathy married the love of her life, John, and he supports her in every business adventure that Kathy takes on. On February 12, 2010, Kathy and John welcomed their first-born son, Thomas John Ostlund into their family at 3:24 AM. He was a very healthy 9 pounds, 3 ounces and 23 inches long.
